History

Moving Forward:

While each Highmark business unit has a distinct focus, capabilities and infrastructure can be leveraged across the company. Through a combination of acquisitions and organic growth, we expect to build the company to $25-30M in annual revenue within the next four years.

2010:

Our business grew to $14 million, a 30% increase over 2009. We also established a Defense and Homeland Security Strategic Advisory Group to help us develop business in this area.

2009:

Despite the poor economy, business grew by 10% during this very challenging year. A second federal client was added, we were awarded a significant project-based contract for the State of North Carolina, and we expanded our business into the State of South Carolina. Our private sector work grew to a team of over 25.

2008:

We changed our name from HCS Systems to Highmark Companies and began marketing our services to private sector clients.

2006:

We opened a Northern Virginia office and began marketing our services to the Federal government.

2005:

An ownership team with a proven track record of delivering high quality staffing and professional services to federal marketplace customers acquired HCS Systems. Their industry recognition, best practices, and innovative approaches added significant momentum to our ability to grow and build capacity in the firm.

1999:

We began delivering staffing, information technology, and professional services to state and local government customers in North Carolina under the name HCS Systems.
