Chief Executive Officer

Darrell joined Highmark in late 2004 as the lead of an investment group that acquired HCS Systems in January 2005. He is responsible for strategic planning of the company, manages the Virginia office, and leads the Federal business group.

Darrell has 25 years of experience in the government professional services marketplace coupled with technology experience in the commercial sector. He previously served as CEO of Milestone Group. Under his leadership, Milestone Group grew from a start-up in 1998 to a leading, diversified information technology and professional services company that was acquired by Anteon Corporation in 2005. Mr. Smith holds both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics from George Mason University.
