Director, Defense Programs

Steve manages and leads the development of Highmark’s defense and homeland security business group.

Steve has over 30 years experience in the defense sector, including active service as an Army officer. Prior to joining Highmark in early 2010, Steve served as a Project Director with Serco, NA, where he implemented and managed the U.S. Army’s Risk Reduction Program world-wide. Mr. Schmith holds an MIA in International Security Policy from Columbia University and a BA in Communication from the University of Rhode Island.
